If you’re interested in a flexible, year-round job, then lifeguarding is for you!  Must be 15 years old by the last class, have access to a computer & printer, and have an email address.  Course description and prerequisites are available at the Y. Within 2 weeks of the first class, participants will receive an email with instructions for completing the e-learning portion of the class.  Participants must complete all e-learning classes and turn in completion certificates before the first class.  Participants must attend 100% of classes and pass the water test and written exams with an 80% or higher in each chapter to obtain the certification.  This course includes CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration.  A minimum of 6 participants is needed to run the class.

 This course is for those who need to recertify in YMCA, American Red Cross or Boy Scouts of America Lifeguarding.  Those with ARC and BSA Lifeguarding will be cross-trained in YMCA Lifeguarding.  All certifications must be current (Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration (if YMCA certified)).  Proof of certifications is required.  Participants must have access to a computer & printer and have an email address.  Within 2 weeks of the class date, participants will receive an email with instructions for completing the e-learning portion of the class.  Participants must complete all e-learning classes and turn in completion certificates at the class.  A written and a water test will be given.  A minimum of 4 participants is needed to run the class.

CPR/AED Course Description: This hands-on skills training prepares you to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies. It also teaches the skills and knowledge needed to provide care for victims of sudden cardiac arrest through the safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).

First Aid Course Description: The purpose of this course is to help participants identify and eliminate potentially hazardous conditions in their environment, recognize emergencies, and make appropriate decisions for first aid care.
