Kids Express
AGES k-5
The YMCA Kids Express program accommodates school age children (K-5) both before and after the school day. Childcare begins at 6:00 am with activity stations and time for breakfast before the Wapakoneta City Schools pick up the students at around 6:30 am for Cridersville students, 7:15am for Middle school students and 7:45 am for Wapak elementary students. After-school care begins when the YMCA bus picks up students at Wapakoneta Elementary and Wapakoneta Middle School. Cridersville students will be dropped off around 3:00 pm by Wapakoneta City Schools. After-school care has snacks, gym games, pool and homework time before the 6:00 pm pick up time.
Adventure Club
Ages k-5
When the Wapakoneta City Schools are closed for holidays, vacation or inclement weather, come and play with us! Adventure Club is available from 6:00 am – 6:00 pm for school-age children (K-5). Daily activities include gym play, organized games, arts & crafts and more. Please send your child with tennis shoes and a healthy lunch.
Members: $25/day/child
Access Members: $35/day/child

Summer Day Camp

Summer Day Camp is a great experience for your child. Campers swim, make arts & craft projects, play games and learn valuable character values while developing lifelong friendships. Each week of camp has a specific theme with an exciting field trip to places like the county fair, Columbus Zoo, COSI and many more! Camp operates during the Wapakoneta City Schools summer break daily from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. The YMCA also offers extended camps for parents who need childcare before or after the typical camp day. Before care runs from 6:00-9:00am and After care runs from 4-6:00pm.

Members: $102 Full week (4-5 days)
$82 Partial week (3 days or less)
Access members: $152 Full week (4-5 days)

SUMMER CAMP STAFF
The Y spends months recruiting, screening and training summer program staff. We look for individuals who are energetic, outgoing and self-motivated. Engaged supervision is what is required of all staff.
The Y selects people who are caring and sensitive to a child’s individual needs. The following are requirements of all summer staff before hired:
- 18 years of age and older
- Clear criminal background screening
- Clear drug screening
- CPR & First Aid certified
- Complete online courses in the proper handling of blood borne pathogens, child abuse prevention, and 16 hours of day program specific training (pool safety, communicating with parents, facilitating summer program schedules and activities, field trip safety, and more).
- Adhere to a strict code of conduct
Kamp Kermit
Ages 3-5
Kamp is offered 5 weeks throughout the summer and is designed to keep your preschooler on track through the summer. We will sing, paint, tell stories, make crafts and much more. Kamp runs from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm for those ages 3-5, not yet enrolled in Kindergarten. Children must be potty trained.
Registration begins March 1, 2026.

Members: $55/week
Access members: $65/week

Child Watch
AGES 6 Weeks-7YRs
The YMCA provides babysitting free of charge to members with a family membership while parents are taking a class or working out. Children 6 weeks to 7 years of age may play in the Child Watch area for up to two hours while a parent is using the facility. All other memberships including Access members may also utilize this service for $4.00 per visit.
Child Watch Hours:
Monday-Friday 8:00-11:30am
Monday-Thursday 4:30-8:30pm
Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm

Child Development Center
AGES 6 weeks-5yrs
Our center programs teach all children the skills needed to be successful in school. Our center provides a warm, caring and fun environment that stimulates a child’s natural curiosity and encourages personal expression. Children develop communication, reasoning and problem solving skills through play, interaction with other children and exploration of their environment. Our programs help children grow physically and mentally while emphasizing and modeling the character development values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith.
